Crochet a Rainbow

Today's post is to encourage you to join in the Crochet a Rainbow project - started by Sarah London, who does amazing things with the humble granny square, it's all about crocheting squares which then will be made into blankets by Sarah for the people who were affected by the devastating Queensland floods.  Just start hooking away at a 5-round straight forward granny square, in one or multi colours, 8-ply yarn and a 4 mm needle.  The address to send your squares to is sent to you when you sign up.  If you're interested you can find the details here.

As one of the many thousands of thousands of people who watched in horror and helplessness as the flood unfolded across the country from me I wondered what on earth I could do to help.  We've made donations when shopping, gathered up clothes we no longer need to send over, but I still felt kind of helpless.  Then I came across Sarah's amazing idea in another blog, and this seemed so right.  Spreading a little light and love.  That's always needed in the world.  xx
