Birthday bubbles and Bakewells

Birthday Bakewells and bubbly
This should have been posted yesterday on the big day itself, but I couldn't find my card reader - I'd actually put it in a really sensible place, which completely threw me :)

It was my hubby's birthday, and how he wanted to celebrate was by having a picnic on the big rock at the back of our house.  Only a short walk away so we could drink the bubbly and still get home!  Presents for the man who has everything came from the English lolly shop in the village, a little taste of home.  Plus Bakewell Tarts which are favourites ...

And how beautiful a place to enjoy a glass of bubbly, surrounded by our kids who soon will not want to be doing family outings as they approach 'that' age.  Another pleasant memory to savour in the future.  A lovely day had by all. xx

Grass trees as far as the eye can see :)

Another doll body part .... mwa ha ha ...

Oh my word!  What has happened to Blogger!? That will teach me to stay away for several days - I didn't even know this was going to happen! ...  Oh well, I'm sure even technophobic old me will get used to this change after a bit of practise :)  (oops - silly me - on checking the post on my blog I see that no change is apparent, but let me tell you the editor is all changed!  Promise ...)

'I want to touch' ... unintentional spooky lighting adds to the macarbre effect don't you think?
I've made yet another body part for my muse doll - the lower arm ... the fingers were a little challenging, but they look pretty good I think.  Lots of poking in little pieces of toy stuffing with my very pointy tiny scissors; and a necessity for stuffing toys I have now found is to own a pair of hemostats, which you can buy online.  They are fab for holding stuffing, stuffing stuffing into the opening and poking it into small places.  I wouldn't be without them now.  My doll now has one arm and one leg ... suppose I better get on with the rest of her, it's rather Frankenstein-like to journal her being put together in this way isn't it?

I know I owe a post about the creative direction I want to take - I'm still thinking that one through, so it might be a few more days.  I like to take my time about everything don't I?!!

Creating Time! Released today ...

The lovely Marney Makridakis and the book!
Yay!  It's the big day for releasing Creating Time by Marney Makridakis of Artella, so I thought I'd give you another opportunity to take a look at what it's all about here, and if you order a copy today you get heaps of free bonus goodies - and they are terrific goodies!   I'm in the book as one of the contributors, so I can't even begin to say how excited I am about it all - I'd always dreamed of being published in a book when I was a little girl at school writing my own stories, and well, you know what they say, 'good things come to those who wait!'  :)

hmmm-ing and ah-ing ...

Which road do I follow?
I've been annoying myself with not knowing what to do with myself these past few days, hence not much blogging!  But I have been visiting a few more blogs, which I haven't done for a while and enjoyed seeing other's creativity and lovely images.  I'm thinking it might be time for an overhaul of my blog, but I'm not sure in what way yet :)

It's also been a time for re-thinking the direction my creativity is going in, but that's a whole other blogpost!  I'm contemplating whether I should follow the real passion of mine (the medium I'm creative in I mean) or continue exploring another interest of mine, which I'm not so technically good at but which I enjoy.  It's all come from a conversation I had with another creative friend of mine who was bemoaning the fact she's flitting all over the place rather than following one particular interest.  The mood I've been in it got me thinking too!

Still, any time spent thinking about and reflecting on creativity is time well spent.

My Creative Space: little winners :)

I'm a few days late with my creative space - but I have a couple of winners here :)

Firstly, here are some little cork knights I made for a friend's little boy - I love this pattern by Lucy Ravenscar.  Visit her blog and you can find some awesome patterns and gets lots of inspiration.  Her crochet creatures are fabulous.

And here is a winning creation of our own - literally - my Little Man won himself a prize for his Easter hat at school the other day.  I was only there as his technical assistant - he knew exactly what he wanted, so I did as asked and helped with the more tricky parts.  Isn't it wonderful?  Hot glue is officially our best crafty friend :)

Here's wishing you a wonderful peaceful Easter.

Look for more creative winners here ...
